The Finnish Wind Power Association
The aim of the Finnish Wind Power Association is to promote Wind Energy in Finland. Currently the association has got about 200 private persons and over 80 companies as members.
The association publishes Tuulienergia-magazine, updates www-pages (mainly in Finnish) and participates in and organizes events and seminars. In 2010 we will organise a wind energy seminar in Helsinki together with the Finnish Energy Industries and the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries. The seminar will be held in Finnish but there is a small hall outside the venue that allowes companies to represent themselves.
Current political issues in Finland
- The law for feed-in-tariff for wind energy is under preparation in the ministry of trade and industry. The law proposal will be given to govermental decision making process in September 2010 and set force at latest in January 2011. The proposed level of the tariff will be 83,5 €/MWh for 12 years. There is a kick-off bonus for those projects that will start producing energy during the first two years after the beginning of the law. The level of the kick-off-tariff is 105,30 €/MWh for 3 years. After three years the project will receive the regular tariff level for 9 years. The law proposal in Finnish
- The target of the Finnish Government is to have 6 TWh worth of wind energy annually by 2020. This means 2000 MW worth of installed capasity in near shore, offshore or onshore or 3000 MW worth of capacity inland. Please find the summary of the long term climate and energy strategy of Finland here.

The Wind Atlas of Finland service at
After the initial rush in November 2009, the Finnish-language Wind Atlas service has attracted a few thousand users per month, several hundred
per day. English and Swedish language versions of the website have now been published at www.windatlas.fi and www.vindatlas.fi. The Wind Atlas map interface user manuals and texts have also been published in English and Swedish. The map nomenclature in the Swedish map interface is in Swedish.
