The goal is to increase the share of renewable energy to 38 per cent by 2020, in line with the obligation proposed for Finland by the EU Commission. For wind power, this means an annual electricity production of 6 TWh the year 2020.
To facilitate this, a feed-in tariff was introduced in March 2011.The producers are paid a tariff, which is the difference between target price and the 3-month average spot market price, Figure 4. The target price is set to 83.5 euros/MWh with a higher tariff of 105.3 euros/MWh before the end of 2015. The total time of the feed-in tariff is 12 years and after that the producers will receive the spot market price.
